COVID -19 has redefined the way in which we conduct business in Barbados. As the leading insurance company, ICBL took the early decision to have our entire ICBL team, work remotely and close our offices, including branches in Six Roads and Black Rock, to walk-in business since March 23, 2020.  The Government has since mandated the closure of all businesses for the next two weeks except for essential services and a few exceptions.

So how do we take care of your needs while we work remotely? Our teams have prepared for this eventuality for some weeks, and we have therefore put a number of processes in place to keep our operations running effectively.

Conducting Your Business With ICBL

  • Sign up today at https://client.icbl.com/ph3/login to activate a customer account, where you can pay, buy or renew any general insurance policy. 
  • Customer Service Representatives are accessible at 434-6000 and ready to provide service, guidance and answer queries relative to Health, Life, Motor, Property or any other lines of business. 
  • For roadside assistance (OMNIPLUS) call 434-6004. 

 
Making Payments

Cheques or cash are no longer payment options, but the followings methods are available.

Making Motor Claims

  • Visit us online to download your claim form. https://icbl.com/claims/forms/ You can fill this out and sign it as usual, scan it or take a clear picture with your phone and return to us at: claims@icb.com.bb. You can send to us via WhatsApp using 256-1342 or 836-9573.

Cover Notes 

  • We now have the ability to automate signed cover notes for both new business and renewals purchased online for private motor insurance only. 
  • For new business, please go to easyINSURE on the website (Create new motor product)
  • For renewals, please use the Client LogIn on the homepage.

Health Insurance Claims

Yes, our Health Insurance plan covers COVID-19.

Scan your claims forms and receipts and send by email to icblhealthclaims@icb.com.bb.

You have 90 days after your service date (i.e. when you visited the doctor) to submit your claim.

All staff members are working remotely. As a result of this, we are currently unable to print cheques. You are encouraged to submit your bank account information (your name, bank address, and account number) along with your I.D. number and preferred email address to icblcreditunit@icb.com.bb to facilitate your payment.

ICBL will send your payment to a trusted family member or friend’s bank account with your written authorization. The letter must be signed by both parties and accompanied by your IDs.

Today, I wish to share ICBL’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak with you. Like the rest of the world, we have been actively monitoring this ever-changing situation. We are also seriously taking our responsibility to take proactive and preemptive measures in the face of this virus. 

We are committed to doing everything we can to limit the transmission of the virus and to protect the health of our staff and customers. One effective step in achieving this is to reduce the number of individuals physically present in our buildings. In light of this, we have decided the following:

  1. ICBL remains open to delivering optimum customer service by phone and on-line channels.
  2. We will, however, close our offices to walk-in customers from Monday, 23 March 2020, until further notice.

As you can appreciate, this is mostly unchartered territory for all of us. We continue to monitor and make adjustments to how we operate so that our customer service teams are set up to answer calls from our customers and to service their business needs remotely. Please be mindful that there may be some inevitable limitations and delays to our normal activities, and we ask your patience in this regard.
