ICBL continues to raise the bar with its well-established annual Summer internship programme and support to Common Entrance students.
Participants of the 2021 ICBL Internship Programme, joined by students who sat this year’s Common Entrance Examination, were recently honoured and provided with inspirational words to guide them into their next stages of life.
Speaking at a virtual ceremony held on September 30th, 2021, recognizing the interns and students, Assistant Vice President Human Resources Gail Hinkson told them their “next chapter awaits”.
Hinkson offered words of praise to the four students who sat the examination, Gabrielle Grazette, Azzanni Ward, Javier Greaves and Jazara Porte, all children of ICBL staff members. She noted that they all performed exceptionally well despite the extraordinary challenges faced, particularly over the past two years, and encouraged them to remain focused as the discipline they displayed would benefit them in the future.
Now in its fifth year, the ICBL Internship Programme hosted eight enthusiastic young men and women who worked in various departments throughout the company. Initially developed to provide practical work experience for children of ICBL staff members, the programme has since grown to include interested persons from the wider community and are chosen from Curricula Vitae submissions.
“ICBL recognizes youth development as a key pillar of the company,” said Hinkson, “and this programme supports that pillar by providing valuable training for future job opportunities.”
Six of the eight interns of the programme are being retained by the company.
